‘Be happy, be our best’ is the philosophy that KKEC endeavors to share with each and every child by providing them with a safe and happy learning atmosphere, with an enthusiasm of exploration, cultivating in their creative thinking with active learning skills, inspiring them with a sense of appreciation and gratitude, nurturing them with a sense of responsibility, be adventurous, knowledgeable, kind, honest and open-minded, cultivating in their creative thinking with active learning skills, and encouraging them with a balanced development and sophisticated curriculum, let them become all-round developmental people. KKEC adopts K.I.D.S. (Kingston International Diverse System), it includes the Invitational Education (I.E.) together with the High Scope and Reggio Approach.

High scope
The core idea is to facilitate children’s active learning, continually enhancing their cognitive learning and unconsciously cultivate their curiosity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Cooperative learning project
The Reggio Emilia Approach involves children in studies of things nearby that interest them and are worth knowing more about. It encourages children to question, investigate, explore and reflect and so on, in order to deepen children’s understanding of the theme. Meanwhile, some exploring activities will be tailor-made for children according to their levels and knowledge they understand. It helps children to connect their personal experience, authentic learning and current knowledge together.

Jolly Phonics
Jolly Phonics is a systematic synthetic phonics programme designed to teach children to read and write. The curriculum is not only using the English series-New School Longman Elect published by Pearson Education which is mainly teaching alphabets, vocabularies, sentences and sounds but also combines teaching with interesting stories and activities which are related to real life experience, it provides children an all-round and systematic learning experience.

Kingston’s Clubs
Carry out different kinds of interest clubs, the courses are interested, diversified and life-related, Children are in favor of English Drama Club, LEGO Creative Club, Reading Club, Basketball and Football Club. The clubs respect children’s self-selection and fully develop children’s potential.
